Oki, Danit'ada, Âba wathtec, Tânisi, Taanishi, Bonjour, Hello, Sansom Community!
We had a wonderful first week of the 2026–27 school year! Throughout the week, teachers focused on getting to know their learners and building positive connections and relationships that will support student success throughout the year. It was a great start, and we are grateful for the positive energy our students and staff brought into the building. We look forward to continuing our journey of teaching, learning, growth, and connection together next week.
September: A Month of Transition
September is a month of transition as students settle into new routines, classes, and learning environments. During this time, homeroom and option class placements may change as we consider student learning needs, class balance, and opportunities to optimize learning for all students. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure every student is in a balanced, supportive learning environment where they can succeed.

Save the Date! Meet the Teacher Night
Our Meet the Teacher Night will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. We will begin the evening together in the gym at 5:00 p.m., after which families will have the opportunity to visit their students’ classrooms, meet their teachers, and learn more about the year ahead. We look forward to welcoming our families and connecting with you!
School Council and Parent Society
Clarence Sansom School Council and Parent Society meet monthly throughout the school year to build and strengthen our partnership with families, discuss student learning, and engage in conversations about decisions that impact our school community. All Clarence Sansom parents and guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend. School Council meetings are a great opportunity to learn more about what is happening at our school, share your perspectives, ask questions, and connect with other members of our school community.
We value the strong partnership we have with our families and invite you to come and be part of this important group. There is no expectation to take on a formal role or a “big job” - you are always welcome to simply attend, listen, learn, and contribute to the conversation.
Our first School Council meeting of the 2026–27 school year will be held in the school library on Wednesday September 16, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, you can join the Clarence Sansom - School Council Meeting Online via Microsoft Teams.
Partners in Learning: Respectful, Ongoing & Effective Communication
As we begin a new school year and welcome new families to Clarence Sansom School, we want to ensure that parents and guardians know how best to communicate with the school. Families should always feel welcome to reach out to the school. Communication about your child begins in the classroom by reaching out to the classroom teachers. This is the optimal way to connect about your child's schooling.
While it is most optimal to first reach out to the classroom teacher, Mr. Steed, Principal, Ms. Nguyen and Dr. Amanwi, Assistant Principals, are available to work collaboratively alongside teachers to support students and their families.
