Good afternoon Scorpion families,
Spring has arrived and the weather is becoming warmer and more inviting. Please encourage your child(ren) to make good choices coming to and from school every day and to represent your family and the school well.
April was a busy month, which included many cultural celebrations, lots of learning and last week students got to watch a wonderful Lion Dance performance in celebration of Asian Heritage Month.
May is a very busy month. Please be sure to watch your calendar, regularly check your child’s Google Classroom, and look for permission forms that are coming home! If you are interested in volunteering for any field trips, please make sure you have completed your CBE Police Clearance ASAP, you can call the office to confirm if you do or do not already have clearance.
With all of the changes taking place, we, at the school, are also planning for next year (2024/25). Please help us by letting us know if you are planning on moving schools or changing programs so we can plan accordingly for our staffing and class configurations. Also note that we are a closed school and are not accepting any out of bounds students.
Inform| Wear a Hat for Mental Health Day on May 8
Students are invited to wear a hat on Wednesday May 8 to recognize and support Mental Health in our school.
Inform| Bus Driver Appreciation
We are very thankful to have our buses and the drivers who bring our students to school each day. On Monday May 6th, it is Bus Driver Appreciation day so please remind your children to say thank you and show their appreciation for the work that our drivers do to get everyone to and from school safely.
Request| Food Security
We are asking parents/guardians to ensure that students bring appropriate food/snacks to school with them. Although we have food available for students at the school, we try to reserve for these items for students in need. We are noticing that many of our students are ‘sleeping in’ or ‘forgetting’ to pack their snack/lunches and then go to the office for free food. Please note, that we don’t have the funds to sustain giving out this much food for students who are not taking the responsibility to bring their own food. Thank you for working with your students on this matter!
Request| Donations
Our CTF Fashion team is looking for yarn, fabric or any other sewing material to enhance the program. If you or someone you know has any items you think students can use, please drop off donations to the office.
