Dates of Significance
The CBE is committed to building a culture of appreciation and inclusion, where students and staff can see themselves valued, respected and celebrated. This dates of significance calendar identifies some of the significant days of recognition and celebration within the CBE community.
Culture Week 2.0 (May 5 - May 16)
We are happy to share that our second and last week of culture weeks was a great success. It continued to provide a meaningful opportunity for students to celebrate diversity, build empathy, and deepen their sense of belonging. Through shared stories, flags, and a cultural Kahoot, we learned from one another and strengthened our inclusive school community.
Thank you to all the families who contributed to make our culture week a big success especially to those who contributed food.
Also a thank you to Esha Paddam for creating a thank you drawing for our families.
Parking Reminders
- Please do not park or drop off students in the bus zone between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Please always use the marked crosswalks. (No jaywalking)
Partners in Learning: Respectful, Ongoing & Effective Communication
We want all parents and guardians to feel welcome and encouraged to connect with us. As partners in your child’s education, we value respectful communication about academic progress, well-being, and any questions about school or CBE processes.
The best place to start is with your child’s classroom teacher. For additional support, Mr. Steed, Ms. Nguyen, and Dr. Amanwi are also available. Formal reporting occurs four times a year - through report cards in January and June, and conferences in November and March, but you're welcome to reach out anytime by phone, email, or in person.
All communication between the school and families should reflect mutual dignity and respect. whether in person, by phone, or through email. We share a common goal: your child’s success. Thank you for contributing to a welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful learning environment for everyone.
Respectfully,
Glen Steed
Principal
