Scorpion Post| January 14, 2024

Good afternoon parents/guardians,

We made it through record setting cold last week and this weekend.  I hope you were able to stay warm and safe.  A four (4) day week of learning ahead as Monday, January 15th, 2024 is a Non-Instructional Day and there is no school for students.  Regular classes resume on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024.

Request| Values Project Parent/Guardian Input

Over the course of this year, students and teachers have been exploring what it means to live in a good way at Clarence Sansom School. To do this, we have been asking students to reflect upon and tell us their personal values. Another way to think about this is to ask “What are the personal characteristics that you value the most?” or “What guiding principles do you follow, in order to make you a good citizen at Clarence Sansom School?”

We would like to invite our Scorpion families to be a part of this process.  Therefore, we are asking for your input by completing the survey at the link below.  Please take a minute (or longer) to discuss this topic with your family and submit your answer(s) using the link below.

Possible responses are as follows but not limited to, hard work, commitment to education, kindness, celebrating diversity, celebrating your culture, empathy, etc.  There are many ways to answer this question, what we want to know is what is most important to you and your family.

Thank you for being a part of this work.

Reminder| Cold Weather

It appears that temperatures will be returning to somewhat seasonal once classes resume on Tuesday. Regardless of the temperatures, Children should be warmly dressed and well prepared for winter weather, and not left unattended at bus stops for any period of time, under any circumstances. They should have clear instructions on how long to wait for the bus and what to do if the bus does not arrive. Families should ensure that they have back-up care arrangements if transportation is delayed.
