Indigenous Student Post-Secondary Recruitment Fair | Nov. 26

In friendship with the Post Secondary Indigenous Recruitment Association of Alberta (PIRAA), the CBE Indigenous Education Team and Henry Wise Wood High School are hosting an Indigenous Student Post-Secondary Recruitment Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 26 (4:30-6:30 pm).

This event is open to Indigenous students currently in high school in Calgary and area. Students and families will have the opportunity to visit booths and attend breakout sessions, with a focus on post-secondary representatives from across Alberta sharing their programs and information specific to Indigenous students. CBE high schools are encouraged to share the poster invitation (link below) with Indigenous students and families. Staff in high schools are also invited to attend to gather information to take back to their school.​

  • RecCAS is a free, drop-in recreation-based afterschool program for youth ages 11-15 yrs. Youth can come and go at any time during program hours.
  • We provide a healthy snack daily and a safe space to make friends, develop life skills, try new activities and build lifelong recreation skills.
  • To register, collect a registration form from the recreation facility and submit prior to attending for the first
  • The program is supervised by qualified staff selected based on experience, ability to relate to children, and leadership skills.
  • All staff receive training and certification in Intermediate First Aid and CPR as well as High Five's Principles of Healthy Child Development.
  • At Village Square, activities may include swimming, art, badminton, basketball, outdoor games, craft and a variety of other activities.

Emergency Food Pantry

Thursdays, 12:00 - 2:00pm only

Service offers an assortment of food items once per week,

Eligibility: Targeted to individuals and families living in the northeast quadrant. However, anyone can access. To access service:

  • drop in, no appointment necessary
  • available every Thursday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
  • sign in when you arrive

Information:

  • Only one person per family line-up in the designated line
  • If possible, do not bring children
  • Please bring own bags

Ho, ho, ho! It’s that magical time of year again, and the Pineridge Community Association is thrilled to invite you and your kin to our Santa Meet & Greet event on Saturday, December 14, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pineridge Community Centre, (6024 Rundlehorn Drive NE). This family-friendly celebration is the perfect way to kick off your holiday season, and we’d love for you to be a part of it!

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Meet Santa Claus! Have your little ones share their holiday wishes with the jolly old man himself and snap that annual photo.
  • Festive Fun! Enjoy a variety of Christmas-themed activities for all ages. There will be something for everyone to get into the holiday spirit.
  • Delicious Snacks! Treat yourself to some tasty holiday treats while you mingle with your neighbors.
  • Giving Back! We’re making this holiday event extra special by asking attendees to bring a food bank donation. It’s a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer and support those in need within our community.
